Large Diameter Welded Steel Tubular Piles — Land & Marine
Founded by a project-oriented civil engineer, and continuing the 40-year partnership of Marlyne and Linsteel, TubePile sources, qualifies and delivers welded steel piles worldwide — from mill to quay.
Strategic sourcing, certified to international standards
We select our partners on dimensions, steel grade, coating, welding works and fabrication capability, requiring compliance with applicable standards.
Built to code
Production adheres to EN 10219-1, EN 10219-2, ASTM A 252, API 2B, API 5L or client specifications, ensuring the product meets project requirements.
Engineered for the marine environment
Coatings rated to ISO 12944 Class C5 (onshore), Class CX (offshore), Cl. IM2 (immersed) or Cl. IM4 with cathodic protection — guarding against salinity, UV, tides and fouling, with a 7 to 25+ year life expectancy.
On-site production — manufacture at the worksite
A mobile mill produces spiral-welded piles on site, with the option to weld interlocks for combi-walls — reducing transport costs, with optimised over-lengths and import duties.
Independently verified — every stage documented and audited by third parties
On request, mill quality documents are attested by accredited bodies such as:
Documentation of procedures, work methods and weld qualification, together with material (or mill) certificate compliance, benefit from rigorous traceability, are documented and, on request, audited and certified by accredited bodies.
- Non-destructive testing: visual, dimensional, ultrasonic, magnetic particle and X-ray
- Mechanical testing: tensile, yield, elongation, hardness and toughness
- Chemical analysis, including Carbon Equivalent (Ceq) values
- Coating inspection: surface preparation grade, dry film thickness, adherence and porosity control (electric holiday detector / wet sponge)
- Each shipment is documented by a delivery note with traceability confirming the product has successfully passed quality testing
Choice of fabrication process
Dimensions are optimised by calculation, not from available stock: every order is engineered to the project.
| Process | Dimension range | Steel grade | Unit length | Max unit weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SSAW (spiral welded under submerged arc flux, from hot-rolled coils) |
Ø 324 × 6.4 mm to Ø 3500 × 32 mm | S 235 – S 460 / Gr. B – X70 | 6 to 38 m (longer without circular weld) | up to 120 t |
| LSAW (longitudinal welded under submerged arc flux, from hot-rolled plate) |
Ø 610 × 12.7 mm to Ø 5080 × 100 mm | S 235 – S 690 / Gr. B – X100 | 3.2–18 m per can, spliced up to 63 m | up to 300 t |
From mill to finished product, equipped and ready for driving
For spiral fabrication, coil widths between 1200 and 2500 mm can be used. Tandem welding and laser weld-seam guidance allow lengths over 60 m without a circular weld. For dolphins, cans obtained by rolling thick, high-yield plate are longitudinally welded and spliced to the required length. On request, the top section can be coated and fitted to receive mooring fenders. For hard-to-access sites, length production can be carried out using spiral pipe, optimising customs duties and supporting local employment.
Dolphins
Longitudinally welded cans in high-yield grades, spliced to length for mooring or breasting dolphins.
Driving guide
To control the distance between axes of tube piles and infill sheet piles in a combi-wall.
Welding works
Shoes, reinforcements, anchor rings, drilling rings… Foot plates, reinforcing plates at points of maximum bending moment, welded flats for concrete anchoring, drilling rings welded to feet for rock drilling — inspected by dye penetrant or magnetic particle.
On-site manufacture
For hard-to-access locations, length production can be carried out using spiral pipe, optimising customs duties and supporting local employment.
Anti-corrosion coating
Shot-blast to near-white Sa 2.5/3.0, then epoxy or glass-flake epoxy, after polyurethane finish coat — checked with an electric holiday detector before shipment.
Connectors and fittings
Larssen-type C6/E21 and C9/E22 fittings, rigid L-T profiles and LPB locking bars, grade S355, welded for combi-wall and retaining-wall assemblies.
Delivered on five continents
A selection of recent large-diameter pile and combi-wall projects, from LNG jetties to container terminals.
Also delivered: Pointe des Grives (Martinique), Port of Antwerp Kanaaldock B2 / INEOS (Belgium), Aguadulce Buenaventura (Colombia).
